Regent Street Cinema
Screened on 26 May 2018
Born and raised in Britain, Stratton moved to Australia in his mid-twenties and quickly established himself as one of the country’s foremost film experts, running the Sydney International Film Festival and becoming a beloved film critic on Australian television. This documentary takes a look at David’s life through the lens of his love of Australian cinema, and features interviews with some of Australia’s best known cinematic talent, as well as a special appearance from David’s long-time TV co-host Margaret Pomerantz – their spats reviewing films together for nearly 30 years are legendary!

The Oz Film Festival team director Laila Dickson was on-stage with James Mullighan (former director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival) outlining this July's exciting array of festival films, followed by a special pre-recorded introduction to the night's feature film from David Stratton himself.
Our legendary concession stand was selling Australian snacks and lollies and some true-blue Aussie tat and gave you the chance to win some fabulous door prizes.
