The London Australian Film Festival is proud to present the UK premiere of the wonderful new family film, WINDCATCHER

Percy Boy Collins is a ten-year-old Aboriginal speed-demon with a quick wit and a heart brimming with untold secrets. In a home filled with love, laughter, and the challenges of caring for his Aunt Prue, Percy dreams big—of becoming the fastest runner his school has ever seen. All he needs? The help of his friends, and a pair of lightning-fast Terminal Velocity sports shoes!

Much more than just a story of winning a race; Windcatcher is about running headlong into destiny, with a pair of spirit-guided shoes you'll never see but will always feel. This is Percy Boy's adventure—where catching the wind is just the beginning.

A treat for the whole family, this riveting journey of discovery, laughter, and courage is led by newcomer Lennox Monaghan, and marks the long-awaited big screen return of Jessica Mauboy (The Sapphires, Bran Nue Dae) as well as the feature debut of director Tanith Glynn-Maloney (Finding Jedda, The Beach).

The feature will be preceded by a short film, and Australian snacks and sweets will be on sale, with a special family raffle held before the screening.

With thanks to the Australian Children’s Television Foundation.

“This fast-moving Australian film smells like a winner.” – Anthony Morris, ScreenHub
"A feel-good, coming-of-age tale...saturated with colour and backdropped by jaunty tunes, the world Percy Boy inhabits with his two peers is one flush with possibilities and wonder." - Sonia Nair, ABC

WHY WE CHOSE THE FILM:
Laila (Director): "So good to have a children’s film this year!! There’ll be lots of kids books to win at the raffle for this one :) This light and sweet film will be the perfect start to your Saturday afternoon."
Stephen (LAFF Co-Programmer): “People request a family film every year, and I’m so happy we could oblige with this super-sweet debut feature from Tanith Glynn-Maloney. Definitely one for the whole family!”
